This overnight trek is the shortest in Bhutan. Highlight of this short trip includes the beautiful sceneries of Paro valley, the magnificent Himalayan ranges, sunset and the famous Taktsang monastery.

Though short in number of days but it’s a challenging two-day journey; the first all uphill and second all downhill.

This is a perfect journey for blending short trek followed up by a memorable cultural trip around the country.

Welcome to the land of happiness. Your guide and driver will be waiting for you at the arrival gate. After checking into your hotel, enjoy your first ever meal in Bhutan, a unique taste.

Depending on time availability, you can explore around Paro valley and pay visit to ancient monasteries such as Paro Kichu Lhakhang. Towards evening take a stroll around Paro town.

7 km/ 4.5 hours/ 960 m ascent

After breakfast, we will take a short ride towards Sangchen Choekor monastery (2900 m) where our crew members and horses will be waiting. We begin our trekking journey from here with an uphill climbing. After about half an hour into our journey, we reach Rinpung goemba. Further up through the forest of blue pine, oak and rhododendrons is Choechotse monastery (3650 m), from where we will have a view of beautiful Paro valley.

A short uphill climb from the monastery, clearing juniper, larch and silver fir forest is the far sight of Bumdra monastery (3900 m) across the vast pasture land.

Our campsite for the night is just below Bumdra Monastery, an only semi-permanent campsite in Bhutan with wooden beds for the night. On a clear day, enjoy sunset across Haa valley from this campsite.

7 km/ 3.5 hours/ 1260 m descent

Today is all downhill treks and will pay visit to numerous Lhakhang (monasteries) including the famous Tiger’s nest (Taktsang). Our descent begins

through the forest of silver pine and Larch for about an hour till we reach Yoselgang. At here we will take a short break and go around visiting nearby Lhakhangs such as Ugyen Tshemo and Zangtho Pelri.

From here is another half an hour trek down towards the Tiger’s nest monastery. After paying visit to this famous monastery located on a sheer cliff overlooking Paro valley, we further descend for about hour and half till Ramthangkha, the parking lot where we will meet our tour vehicle.

From here, drive towards your hotel for a nice warm shower before setting out to explore the area. If time permits, we will visit Paro Rinpung Dzong and Ta Dzong (the watch tower).

Your short, yet memorable stay in Bhutan comes to an end today. After breakfast from your hotel, your driver and guide will see you off at Paro International airport.
