After breakfast, we will take a short ride towards Sangchen Choekor monastery (2900 m) where our crew members and horses will be waiting. We begin our trekking journey from here with an uphill climbing. After about half an hour into our journey, we reach Rinpung goemba. Further up through the forest of blue pine, oak and rhododendrons is Choechotse monastery (3650 m), from where we will have a view of beautiful Paro valley.

A short uphill climb from the monastery, clearing juniper, larch and silver fir forest is the far sight of Bumdra monastery (3900 m) across the vast pasture land.

Our campsite for the night is just below Bumdra Monastery, an only semi-permanent campsite in Bhutan with wooden beds for the night. On a clear day, enjoy sunset across Haa valley from this campsite.

7 km/ 3.5 hours/ 1260 m descent

Today is all downhill treks and will pay visit to numerous Lhakhang (monasteries) including the famous Tiger’s nest (Taktsang). Our descent begins

through the forest of silver pine and Larch for about an hour till we reach Yoselgang. At here we will take a short break and go around visiting nearby Lhakhangs such as Ugyen Tshemo and Zangtho Pelri.

From here is another half an hour trek down towards the Tiger’s nest monastery. After paying visit to this famous monastery located on a sheer cliff overlooking Paro valley, we further descend for about hour and half till Ramthangkha, the parking lot where we will meet our tour vehicle.

From here, drive towards your hotel for a nice warm shower before setting out to explore the area. If time permits, we will visit Paro Rinpung Dzong and Ta Dzong (the watch tower).
